For us, washroom cleaning in Munich means starting with the surfaces most hands touch, then dealing with limescale and uric scale before they build into a layer. Separate equipment is not a formality in a washroom. We work with colour-coded cloths and mop covers: one colour for toilet and urinal ceramics, a second for basins, taps and mirrors, a third for everything outside the room. They are changed per washroom unit, not per floor. Otherwise a cloth simply carries onwards whatever it picked up two cubicles earlier.
The surfaces people notice are rarely the ones most hands touch. Flush plates and buttons, cubicle bolts and inner handles, door handles on both sides, light switches, tap levers and the front edges of soap and paper dispensers are covered at every visit. Together they take only a few minutes, yet they are the points most often skipped, because none of them sits in your line of sight.

What matters here
Limescale, uric scale, odour
Limescale and uric scale dissolve in acid; grease and protein residues need an alkaline product. Wiping with an all-purpose cleaner alone builds a layer on ceramics and taps that is harder to shift every week – and Munich tap water is high in lime. That deposit is rarely on the visible surface: uric scale forms under the flush rim, in the trap and in the urinal outlet. We never combine acidic and chlorine-based products, because the mixture releases chlorine gas.
If a washroom smells despite clean surfaces, the cleaning standard is almost never the reason. The three usual causes are a dried-out trap in a rarely used floor drain, uric scale inside the pipework, and a leaking seal at the base of a floor-standing toilet. The first we fix by topping up the water, the second we work off, the third we report to you. An air freshener only covers all three.
Grout and intervals
Cement-based grout is absorbent and is washed out by permanently acidic products, so we treat it in spots rather than across the whole surface. Black dots in silicone joints are fungal growth inside the sealant itself – that cannot be scrubbed away, only resolved by replacing the joint. We tell you which joint is due; the work itself belongs to a trade contractor.
Short intervals cost less here than occasional large-scale sessions. A few days of limescale film comes off with a cloth; weeks of build-up has to be removed mechanically, and the time needed rises disproportionately. For a reliable quote, tell us the number of toilets, urinals, basins and showers, plus how many people use them and when the peaks fall – floor area tells us little in this case.

How often does a washroom need cleaning?
That depends on how many people use it, not on its size. As a rule of thumb: short rounds covering contact surfaces, ceramics and floor at a tight frequency, plus a separate cycle for flush rims, grout and drains.
Can you remove old uric scale?
Usually yes, though often only over several passes with proper dwell time. If the glaze underneath is already damaged, some marking stays visible – we say so in advance. With waterless urinals we ask about the system first, because acidic products destroy the sealant cartridge.
Our toilet smells permanently. Would cleaning more often help?
Not necessarily. We first check the floor drain, the traps and the joint at the base of the toilet. If a leak or the pipework is at fault, extra visits change nothing – you then need a trade contractor, and we tell you exactly where to look.
Who provides soap, paper and bin liners?
Normally you do. At the first visit we note which paper fold and roll size your dispensers take, restock them and give you notice before a supply runs low. If you prefer, we bring the material and bill it by consumption.
What does cleaning a washroom cost?
Billing is by the hours actually worked, at €25 per person and working hour. Travel costs of €18 arise per working day and per job, not per person – so with several washrooms in the same building, only once. No VAT is charged, in accordance with § 19 of the German VAT Act. There is no minimum order value.
