Cleaning for shops in Munich

Cleaning for shops in Munich deals with a floor that has to look presentable every morning and barely stands still during the day. Anyone running a shop or a branch is deciding less about scope than about timing: what happens in the quiet stretch before opening, what stays with your own team, and what only runs on certain days? This page answers those questions.

The first decision is not how often to clean but whether to clean before or after trading. Three things settle it: who unlocks the shop, how the alarm is wired, and when deliveries arrive. If you have the place cleaned after the tills close and then take in a pallet the next morning, the effect is gone before the door opens. In that case the visit belongs after goods-in, even though the window gets tighter.

The stretch before opening is shorter than it looks in the diary. Drying time for the floor and putting the barrier mats back come off the window, as does the walk between stockroom and sales floor. With two hours on site, roughly forty-five minutes remain for everything that is not floor. That is why we separate a short routine visit from a longer visit at wider intervals.

What matters to you

Typical properties

  • Single shops with one till area and a staff WC
  • Branches of a chain inside the Munich city area
  • Specialist retailers with advice and fitting rooms
  • Bakery outlets, kiosks and small sales points
  • Showrooms run by appointment rather than passing trade
  • Retail units with an attached stockroom and staff room

What matters to you

  • A sales floor that is finished before the first people come in
  • A time window that reliably ends before opening
  • Entrance and traffic lane presentable on wet days too
  • Stock, displays and cabinets left untouched
  • One fixed contact and extra visits available at short notice
  • Streak-free shop windows after every change of display
  • An invoice you can recalculate from hours and visits

What matters here

When the window is tight

When the window is very tight, look at staffing rather than at scope. Two people for one hour add up to the same working hours as one person for two, because billing is per person and working hour. Travel is unaffected: it is charged once for the working day, however many people turn up. Halving the window therefore costs nothing extra — it simply has to be planned far enough ahead.

Several branches, one framework

Chains usually ask for one uniform plan across all sites. That comes apart in three places: differing opening times, differing floor coverings and entrance areas of very different sizes. A shared framework with a separate site sheet per shop works better, listing the window, the floor type and the contact person. Each location stays a job of its own with its own travel charge. We work exclusively within the Munich city area; branches beyond the city limits cannot be added, not even as part of a larger contract.

The entrance in wet weather

The entrance turns weather into working time. On a wet day the area behind the door looks nothing like the rest of the shop after two hours of footfall, and an earlier appointment does not help — only a second, short one does. For days like that an on-call visit can be agreed, triggered by your branch manager. Anything outside the threshold is not included: we do not clear or grit in winter.

What to clear beforehand

We do not handle stock, and that shapes your preparation. Nothing should be standing on the floor that does not belong there: delivered cartons, rails left over from a refit, cables from promotional displays. Locked display cases stay locked and are wiped from the outside; the key stays with you. If a shelving unit is to be clean right into the corners, your staff clear it for an agreed appointment — otherwise we work around the goods.

Floors and shop windows

How often the floor needs attention follows the number of people coming through the door, not the square metres. A specialist shop with booked consultations and thirty visitors a day manages on a few visits per week; the same layout on a shopping street needs a daily pass. Allow for peaks as well: the run-up to Christmas and the sales lift soiling markedly for weeks. We plan limited extra visits for that instead of raising the standing frequency.

Shop windows are usually cleaned too rarely and at the wrong moment. The inside gets dirty mainly while the display is being dressed, so the sensible appointment falls on the day after the change, not before it. On the outside, the marks collect in the lower third of the pane, at child hand height, where they are barely visible from inside. Ground-floor glass we clean from floor level. Panes higher up, façade cleaning and work on the building envelope are not part of our offering.

Two names, two numbers

Day to day you need one person on your side who reports changes, plus a stand-in for their days off. In shops with rotating shift leads this is the most common source of trouble: word of a rescheduled delivery never reaches us and the team arrives to blocked aisles. So settle two names and two numbers before the first routine visit runs. Whoever writes to us gets an answer from a person, not from an automated system.

A worked example

A shop with 120 square metres of sales floor, one till area, a staff WC and a small stockroom: one person cleans the floor, till area, entrance and washroom in two hours before opening, across six visits a week.

2 working hours × €25
€50
Travel costs (6 working days)
€108
Total per visit
€158

The figure covers a full week of six visits. Travel counts once per visit, regardless of how many people attend. Shelf plinths, stockroom and staff room are not included here; they run as a separate, longer visit at wider intervals.

What a working hour means

Billing is per person on site and per hour worked. Two people working three hours makes six working hours.

Important limits

  • Range and display remain your team’s responsibility
  • Shop windows at ground level only, no façade cleaning
  • No winter service and no clearing outside the entrance
  • No repairs to shopfitting, till equipment or lighting
  • No pest control in sales areas or stockrooms
  • No work above safely reachable height
  • No assignments outside the Munich city area

Frequently asked questions

We have several branches in Munich. Can that run as one contract?

Yes, under a shared framework with a separate sheet per site. Billing is per shop: €25 per person and working hour plus €18 per working day and job. No VAT is charged, in accordance with § 19 of the German VAT Act. Two sites on the same day therefore mean two travel charges.

Does an early appointment before opening cost more?

No, there is no surcharge for early or late slots. The rate is €25 per person and working hour whatever the clock says. Travel is added at €18 — once for the working day and the job, not for each person.

Can we start with a single appointment?

Yes. There is no minimum order value, so a single visit ahead of the season is possible. If you book a site visit beforehand and no job follows, it costs a flat €40; with an order placed, it is not charged.

What is possible around stocktaking or a refit?

An extra visit once the work is finished, so that dust and packaging residue do not carry over into normal trading. We do not move stock, cartons or shopfitting parts. Flag the need a few days ahead and the time is reserved in the plan.

How much notice do you need for an extra visit?

Two hours of notice at minimum, provided someone is free. Requests reach us Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 20:00 by phone, WhatsApp or chat, and the reply comes from someone in the business.

Do you need a key to our shop?

Not necessarily. Many shops have their own team unlock and stay on site during the visit. If a key is needed, the handover is recorded in writing, as is the handling of the alarm code. For branches with rotating shift leads, please name one fixed person for this.
