Hotel cleaning in Munich
Hotel cleaning in Munich comes down to one thing: a room has to be ready between departure and arrival, not at some point during the day. MilieuLux therefore works with a fixed sequence per room type, a checklist that can be verified, and a clear release back to reception. What is cleaned, what is changed and what is only checked is settled in advance – and it is the same for everyone on shift.
Occupancy sets the pace. In most houses there are around four hours between check-out and check-in, and every departure room of the day falls into that window. It can only be planned in rooms per person per hour, not in square metres. Depending on the fittings, a departure room with a full bed change and bathroom takes two to three times as long as a stay-over room. Staffing therefore follows the ratio of departures to stay-overs, not the number of rooms.
Before the shift starts we need the room status from the house: which rooms are departing, which are staying, which are due to be occupied again early. Reception sets that order, not the cleaner – otherwise a room that has already been sold is done last. If the status changes during the shift, the message goes through one named point of contact. We report a finished room back; only with that release does reception list it as sellable again.

What matters here
Rooms and linen
Each room type is worked in a fixed sequence: handles and door, bathroom, bed, surfaces, floor, and a final look back from the doorway. That sequence is on the checklist because under time pressure the same points always slip – the shower drain, the underside of the toilet lid, the track of the shower door, the kettle, the remote control, the edge of the mirror. A guest does not see the average of the floor, only one room. Doing it the same way whoever is on shift therefore counts for more here than speed.
Linen is supplied by the house and laundered off site. Our part ends with stripping, making up and counting: the pieces stripped and the pieces issued are recorded per room, because shortfalls otherwise only surface at the monthly count. In stay-over rooms the house rule applies; commonly a towel on the floor is the signal to replace it. If the floor pantry is not stocked before the shift begins, fetching supplies costs more time than the room itself.
Handover and public areas
The shift handover decides how the first hour goes. Whatever happened overnight – breakage in the corridor, a room released late, a guest who extended – belongs in the handover in writing, not in a word exchanged in a doorway. Without it the shift starts with questions instead of work, and precisely in the hour when most rooms are free.
The lobby, lift cars, corridors and breakfast room follow guest flow rather than the room round. The breakfast room can only be done once service has ended and before the next setting-up; corridors sensibly only after the departure wave, because trolleys and suitcases mark them again beforehand. These areas get time slots of their own so they do not end up as leftover work on an already tight room shift.

What a working hour means
Billing is per person on site and per hour worked. Two people working three hours makes six working hours.
A worked example
Assuming: 8 rooms of a guesthouse as departure cleaning – beds stripped, bathroom cleaned, restocked.
- 2 people × 3 hours = 6 working hours × €25
- €150
- Travel costs, once per working day
- €18
- Total, final price
- €168
A different property gives a different figure. The arithmetic stays the same.

Frequently asked questions
How many rooms can one person do per hour?
That depends on the ratio of departures to stay-overs, on the bathroom fittings and on the type of bed. Rather than a single figure we give a range once room types, occupancy and the turnaround window are known. Billing is at €25 per person and working hour, not per room. No VAT is charged, in accordance with § 19 of the German VAT Act.
Do you handle the linen as well?
We strip, make up and count per room. Laundering is done by your linen service; we do not run a laundry of our own. Damaged or missing pieces are reported back on the same day.
How are key cards handed over?
At reception when the shift starts, with the time and the name recorded, and back again at the end. Cards stay in the house. If one goes missing we report it straight away so it can be blocked. Rooms with a do-not-disturb sign are left alone and reported back.
Can you step in at short notice when staff are off?
To commit we need the number of rooms, the room types and the time window; enquiries reach us Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00 by phone or WhatsApp. Travel costs of €18 arise per working day and per job, not per person.
What happens if a room is only released late?
A late departure shifts the order, not the workload. We work through the released rooms first and take the late one afterwards. If it stays occupied until the end of the shift, we say so in good time so that reception does not list it as sellable.
