Cleaning in Trudering and Riem
Few Munich districts are as internally varied as the 15th. Trudering has detached and terraced family houses with gardens, often lived in by the same families for decades. A few kilometres east lies Messestadt Riem: a quarter created entirely on a drawing board, with apartment schemes, underground parking and a park. The two need different approaches.
In Trudering the job is usually a whole house, not a flat – and the difference is not the floor area but the number of rooms that are rarely used. The utility room, guest bathroom, conservatory and cellar stairs collect for months and get skipped at every other visit. So we write them down with a cycle of their own.
Windows are the most common single job here, for a simple reason: a family house has many of them, often floor-to-ceiling and facing the garden. We clean at ground level, inside and out. Anything needing a ladder above head height we do not do – work at height is not part of our offer. We count the windows beforehand and quote a time range.
How the district grew
Trudering was a village and became a residential area of many family houses during the 20th century. Those who wanted greenery but wished to stay in the city built here — first the tradesmen and civil servants of the 1930s, later their children on the last free plots.
Riem was Munich’s airport for decades. In 1992 flights moved to Erding and a very large site was freed up. What was built there was planned as a whole from the start: the new trade fair grounds, a residential quarter, a shopping centre and the Riemer Park with its lake.
The result is two building worlds in one district, and they are of different ages: Trudering grew over more than eighty years, the Messestadt was built in barely twenty. Anyone managing property here deals, within a few kilometres, with buildings two lifetimes apart.

What is different here
Two eras, two tasks
Because the construction dates vary so much, we check the floors before the first visit. A house from 1935 may have old parquet; one from 2015, large-format tiles or vinyl. We test in a hidden spot how a floor has been treated and choose the product accordingly. On timber we work barely damp and without steam.
In Messestadt Riem the task is entirely different. There it is stairwells, corridors, lift cars and ancillary rooms in large schemes – hard-wearing floors, plenty of area, a fixed cycle. The client is usually the property manager. The scope has to be in writing beforehand, or it gets discussed every time.
Garden and distance
A garden by the house changes the shape of the working day: garden work comes first and cleaning last, otherwise clippings and soil come back in through the patio door. With terraced houses on a narrow plot it also means the cuttings go straight onto the van – green waste left standing otherwise sits outside the terrace for days.
Between old Trudering and the Messestadt Riem lie two building types and barely five kilometres: detached houses with gardens on one side, new-build terraces with underground parking on the other. What is half a day in one half of the district is a full day in the other. In planning we therefore divide the district at the railway line and cost the two halves separately.

€25 final price per person and working hour · €18 final price per working day and job – not per person
Questions from this district
Do you also clean whole houses regularly?
Yes. We walk the house with you beforehand and set out what belongs to the regular scope. After that we come on the agreed cycle and do the same each time.
Do you clean upstairs windows from outside?
Only as far as is safely possible from the ground or from an opened window. Anything needing a ladder above head height we do not do.
Can you look after the garden as well?
Light garden work, yes: lawn, hedge, leaves, beds. Tree felling, façade work and snow clearing are not included. Garden work is billed separately – €30 per person and working hour. No VAT is charged, in accordance with § 19 of the German VAT Act.
What does a visit in Trudering or Riem cost?
By time: €25 per person and working hour, plus €18 travel costs once per working day and job. A site visit with no job following costs €40. There is no minimum order value.
